Digital Diary ("the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the app.

1. Overview

Digital Diary is designed as an offline-first app. Your personal data stays on your device and remains under your control.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The app allows you to create and manage:

• Diary entries (text, mood, dates)
• Photos attached to entries
• Optional audio (voice notes / speech-to-text)

👉 This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted by the app.

3. Google Drive Backup (Optional)

• Your data may be uploaded to your own Google Drive account
• The app uses your Google account (Name & Email) only for authentication
• The developer cannot access your backup data
• Private App Storage: Backup data is stored in a hidden private folder (appDataFolder) in your Google Drive. This folder is not visible in the standard Google Drive interface.
• User Control: Although the backup data is not directly visible in Google Drive, you can manage or delete this data at any time from within the app settings or by removing the app’s access to your Google account.

👉 This feature is fully optional and controlled by you.

4. Advertising (AdMob)

The free version of the app uses Google AdMob.

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• App interaction data
• Crash logs and diagnostics
• Approximate location

5. In-App Purchases

The app may offer premium features via Google Play Billing.

• Purchase information is handled securely by Google
• We do not collect or store payment details

6. Permissions

• Camera / Storage → to add photos
• Microphone → for voice input (optional)
• Notifications → reminders
• Biometric → app lock

All permissions are used only for app functionality.

7. Data Control

• Delete entries anytime
• Disable backup anytime
• Uninstalling the app deletes all local data

8. Security

• Data remains on your device
• Backup data is encrypted during transfer
• We do not sell or share your personal data

9. Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
